Finding a traditional forge to work in as a hobbyist can be a real challenge, especially in Copenhagen. We want to change that. We're opening up Copenhagen's only traditional forge as a maker's space for experienced and aspiring smiths to rent time and continue their craft.

Whether you're a seasoned blacksmith missing the ring of hammer on anvil, or you've taken classes and caught the smithing bug, this is your chance to keep the fires burning. Our fully equipped traditional forge gives you access to authentic tools and techniques that are becoming increasingly rare in the modern world.

At the workshop, you'll have access to professional-grade equipment:

  • Traditional coal forges

  • Quality anvils in various sizes

  • Professional hammers and tongs

  • Punches for precision hole-making

  • Hot chisels for cutting and splitting

  • Texturing tools for decorative work

  • Swage blocks for specialized forming

Machine Tools:

  • Belt grinder for finishing work

  • JET wood lathe for handle making and wood turning

  • Drill press for precision holes

  • Multiple vices for secure holding

  • Norton 5D flypress for precision work

Hand Tools:

  • Files and rasps for shaping and finishing

  • Hand saws for cutting stock

  • Jeweler's saws for precision cutting

  • Various woodworking tools for wood working

Materials:

  • Various types of coal (sold at cost)

  • Mild and high carbon steel stock (sold at cost)

  • Access to expert guidance when available

Flexible Access

We offer the maker's space for rent both hourly and monthly, making it accessible whether you're working on a quick project or diving deep into a long-term piece. Monthly members also have the option to store their personal tools and equipment on-site—perfect for those who've invested in quality hammers, tongs, or specialized tools but don't have the space to keep them at home.
